Dear Customers and Board Gaming Community,

We would first like to thank all of you for your great support of us while starting this website. Believe it or not, we couldn’t have done this without your kind words, participation in the forums, and of course, your purchases.

While we love offering all of you great games at great prices, we have yet to find a method to make it worth our time and effort. At first, we thought that we could eventually make it through the rough times and become profitable. But after months of hard work and devotion, things weren’t looking up, and up to this point we haven’t been very profitable. We tried raising prices, having a very low priced game of the day, free shipping, and a few other tactics. While some were definitely better than others, none of them were worth our time.

Don’t get us wrong, we made some money, and again, we appreciate your support. The problem was for ever hour we put in, we got less than $5 back. This just wasn’t working. Not to mention the extra costs of gasoline, and supplies (boxes, packaging, ect.).

At this time we would like to officially announce that we will be letting the Beta Board Game Project chill for the summer – as it is. You can still buy games at the prices that are listed right now, and we’ll ship your orders, we’re just going to take a break as far as aggressive experimentation goes. In the meantime we will be reviewing other possibilities so that we can continue offering you guys great prices and great customer service.

Speaking of customer service: We feel that we have resolved nearly all customer service inquiries. If you feel that you have yet to be responded to or have any further questions, please send an email to support@empireboardgames.com and we’ll get you taken care of.

Empire In The News – Edition 1

Due to unforseen economic conditions, Empire has been forced to sell their corporate Yacht. In the last board meeting on the SS Empire, executives unanimously decided that they would sell their corporate Yacht to avoid having to file for Chapter 11 like some other businesses.

The following statement was issued by Jeremy Blake, Co-Founder and CEO of Empire Board Games after the decision was made to sell the prized piece of floating steel:

Words can’t begin to express the sorrow we have felt over the last few weeks. This was not an easy decision. Many good times were had aboard the SS Empire but when push came to shove, we decided we would sell the boat and continue passing amazing board game prices down to our excellent customers.

Mr. Blake’s statement was cut short when his eyes teared up as he began speaking of his deep love for his customers. “I just love those guys” he told reporters as a tear rolled off his cheek.
